St Mary's at 9.00
A traditional Anglican service in the town's most historic church
The 9am service is a traditional service, accompanied by the organ, held in the ancient but well-preserved St Mary's. The sermon follows the same teaching pattern as the 10.45 service at St Matthew's. Holy Communion is celebrated on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
After the service, coffee and tea are served in St Matthew's. Drink slowly enough and soon you'll be mixing with the early arrivals for the 10.45 service!

St Matthew's at 10.45
A lively service in a friendly family atmosphere
Ideal for families, the 10.45 all-age gathering is a time spent as a whole church gathered around God's word, the Bible - thinking about how God's powerful word changes the very people we are.
All ages come to the first part of our meeting where we sing and learn together - all are involved from the youngest children to the oldest adults. After this, those aged up to school year 9 move to their different groups where they learn together through fun activities while the adults stay in the main church area. There is a supervised créche for the under 2s throughout the service. Our time together ends over coffee and tea and an opportunity to catch up and encourage one another.
Once a month, the service is Holy Communion as we remember together the death of Jesus Christ.

St Matthew's at 6.30
Upbeat celebration followed by coffee and chat
The 6.30 service is our most informal, with Bible teaching and prayers, and worship led by a band. Many who come are in the under 30s age group.
The service leads directly into Café Time - an opportunity to discuss what we have heard, and to chat over tea and coffee and a snack.
Once a month the service is Holy Communion. |
